What Is An Interview?
An interview is a formal conversation between two or more people, typically with one person, the interviewer, asking questions to obtain information, assess qualifications, or evaluate the suitability of a candidate for a job, admission, or other purposes.
Your performance in an interview depends, to a significant extent, on how well you prepare. There are countless interview questions that you might face. Preparing for an interview requires more effort than just Googling a list of common interview questions.
Interview Preparation Guide
1. Carefully examine the job description. The job description imcludes a list of the qualifications, qualities and background the employer is looking for in an ideal candidate. Reviewing the job description very carefully is the first step to take before you initiate applying for a job.
Most of the people do not review it clearly and miss some important parts that impact on their preparation for the interview.
2. Research the company. Before an interview you should always ensure you research the company as thoroughly as possible. You could contact the company to ask for an information pack or have a look at their website. Eg. what they do, make or sell.
3. Find out the interview type and prepare accordingly. There are different types of job interview. In some cases, you'll only need to succeed at one of these. There are several different types of interviews but three common types are: Face-to face, Telephone and Video.
4. Be ready to tell the interviewer about yourself. When you're attending an interview a hiring manager may start the conversation by asking you "Tell me about yourself.".
5. Prepare your stories. Stories help you craft impressive answers using these stories. Show that you are a helpful employee by coming up with a few stories about times you helped others succeed, a time when you worked as part of a team or when you overcame a challenge.
